Discussions about the future of this building continue. This historic and
characteristic local structure (featured as our logo), in some sense a flagship
for the farm, has become redundant agriculturally. Ellas
dream is to make it a resource - a place where the local spirit
is selected, fermented, refined, distilled, and shared and enjoyed in a new
way: displays of information about local ecology and the groups which champion
it, a gallery with changing displays of creative work of environmental significance,
exhibits of the farms history, and a space where people, including local
people, can meet, to learn and to enrich each others lives. (Not forgetting
the bats! A maternity roost of Lesser Horseshoe bats is to be protected with
their own attic, and any repair or building work to be done during their hibernation
period elsewhere).
Grant funding is being considered and sought
for these applications - not an easy matter in this time of rapid change in
the European Union. A team is forming itself: Patrick the buildings historian
and his co-worker Vanessa, Huw the architect and his helpers, and others who
as yet wait in the wings to be attracted to this magic place.
Until then regrettably public access is unavailable - visitors staying at
the bed and breakfast can view this fascinating building at their discretion.
